[プロフィール]
「Give Life to Your Story!―物語を動かそう！―」をテーマに、物語と教育の融合を通じて、大人と子どもの自己肯定感を共に引き出していく共育活動を行なっている。

学生時代に長年、いじめや引きこもりを経験。駿台予備校物理科講師を１０年務めた後、映画監督となる。

今までにのべ40以上の映画祭にて受賞・ノミネートを果たしている。母校の早稲田大学では「大隈記念奨学生」として卒業生代表に選ばれ、並びにもう一つの母校のデジタルハリウッド大学大学院では卒業生の代表として「学長賞」を受賞。

初の長編映画「ノー・ヴォイス」では、捨てられる命ゼロを目指してをテーマに、日本の殺処分問題の現状と犬猫の命の大切さを描き、各地で上映会が行なわれ、2019年には、小説・DVDが発売。2020年には、普連土学園中学校の「国語」の入試問題に採用される。

また、クリエイティブと共に、経営・ICTの活動面でも評価を受け、一般社団法人テレコムサービス協会主催・総務省関東総合通信局共催の「第3回ビジネスモデル発見＆発表会・全国大会」にて「中小企業庁長官賞」を受賞する。

法務省主催の「人権シンポジウム」講演、月刊誌「致知/致知随想」、東京新聞、朝日新聞、埼玉新聞などメディア出演や講演会活動を積極的に行うと共に、学生や社会人向けにコミュニケーション力を育む“映画×アクティブ・ラーニング”ワークショップ「シネマ・アクティブ・ラーニング®︎」を全国で展開している。

最新作となる長編映画「あまのがわ」は、不登校の女子高生が分身ロボット“OriHime”と共に、屋久島・鹿児島を舞台に旅をする物語。主演は、本作が映画初出演＆初主演となり、第100期朝ドラ「なつぞら」で広瀬すず演じるなつの幼馴染・夕見子役を務める福地桃子。本作は、第31回東京国際映画祭「特別招待作品」として、海外６つの映画祭でノミネート、ロサンゼルスJFFLAでは「最優秀脚本賞」を受賞、2021年1月には、日本映画ウィーク2021inホーチミンに、是枝監督「万引き家族」と並んで、日本代表の1作品に選定される。

現在、芸術面では、即興演劇（インプロ）のリーグ戦「こんなはずじゃなかった2020」に監督として参戦し、リーグ戦に優勝。現在、インプロの講師の活動を手掛けている。
また、最新作映画は、パーキンソン病をテーマにした映画「いまダンスをするのは誰だ？」（2023年公開）。本作は、厚生労働省の推薦映画に選定され、毎日新聞（全国紙）1面に掲載される。

映画監督の活動と共に、研究や教育活動をクロスオーバーで行う。文化人類学の視座を基に、関係性のあり方に注目をして、VUCA時代を生きる上で必要なマインドを幅広い世代に発信し続けている。2021年⽇本経済研究所、2022年⽇本⼼理学会、2023年東京労働者福祉協議会、2024年ILO国際労働機関と、産学官の領域を超えて講演で貢献している。

Shun Coney Director/Story Evangelist/Novelist

“Give Life to Your Story!”—a theme that combines storytelling and education to jointly enhance the self-esteem of both adults and children through collaborative education activities.

During his school years, he experienced long-term bullying and social withdrawal. After working as a physics instructor at Sundai Preparatory School for 10 years, he became a film director.

He has been awarded or nominated at more than 40 film festivals to date. At his alma mater, Waseda University, he was selected as a representative graduate as an “Okuma Memorial Scholar,” and at his other alma mater, Digital Hollywood University Graduate School, he received the “President’s Award” as a representative graduate.

In his first feature film, “No Voice,” he depicted the importance of animal lives and the current situation of euthanasia in Japan, aiming for zero discarded lives. Screenings were held across various locations, and in 2019, the novel and DVD were released. In 2020, it was adopted as an entrance examination question for Japanese language at Fureado Gakuen Middle School.

Additionally, his creativity and activities in management and ICT were recognized, earning him the “Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Director General Award” at the 3rd Business Model Discovery & Presentation National Competition, organized by the Telecommunications Services Association and co-sponsored by the Kanto Bureau of Telecommunications, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

He actively participates in lectures such as the “Human Rights Symposium” hosted by the Ministry of Justice, contributes to monthly magazines like “Chichi/Chichi Zuiso,” and appears in media outlets such as the Tokyo Shimbun, Asahi Shimbun, and Saitama Shimbun. He also conducts “Cinema Active Learning®” workshops nationwide to foster communication skills for students and working adults.

His latest feature film, “Amanogawa,” is a story of a high school girl who has stopped attending school and embarks on a journey in Yakushima and Kagoshima with a companion robot “OriHime.” The lead role is played by Momoko Fukuchi, making her film debut and first starring role, known for playing the character Yumiko, a childhood friend of Natsu, portrayed by Suzu Hirose, in the 100th NHK morning drama “Natsuzora.” The film was nominated at six overseas film festivals, received the “Best Screenplay Award” at JFFLA in Los Angeles, and in January 2021, it was selected as one of the representative Japanese films at Japan Film Week 2021 in Ho Chi Minh City, alongside Hirokazu Kore-eda’s “Shoplifters.”

Currently, in the arts, he participates as a director in the league competition for improvisational theater (impro) “Konna Hazu Ja Nakatta 2020,” winning the league competition. He is also involved in teaching improvisation.

His latest film, “Who’s Dance Now?” (2023), focuses on Parkinson’s disease. The film was recommended by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and featured on the front page of the Mainichi Shimbun (a national newspaper).

In addition to his work as a film director, he engages in crossover research and educational activities. Based on the perspective of cultural anthropology, he focuses on relationships and continues to disseminate the necessary mindset for living in the VUCA era to a wide range of generations. He has contributed to lectures beyond the fields of industry, academia, and government, including the Japan Economic Research Institute in 2021, the Japanese Psychological Association in 2022, the Tokyo Workers Welfare Council in 2023, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2024.

He is currently the CEO of Cosmo Box Corporation, an outside director and CSO of Aroma Join Corporation, and enrolled in the doctoral program at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(JAIST).
