[プロフィール]
「Give Life to Your Story!―物語を動かそう！―」をテーマに、物語と教育の融合を通じて、大人と子どもの自己肯定感を共に引き出していく共育活動を行なっている。

学生時代に長年、いじめや引きこもりを経験。駿台予備校物理科講師を１０年務めた後、映画監督となる。物理学、心理学、映画学、人類学など自然科学・人文科学・社会科学を横断した研究を長年行い、既存の枠に捉われない創造的価値の発掘を活動の軸としている。

今までにのべ40以上の映画祭にて受賞・ノミネートを果たしている。母校の早稲田大学では「大隈記念奨学生」として卒業生代表に選ばれ、並びにもう一つの母校のデジタルハリウッド大学大学院では卒業生の代表として「学長賞」を受賞。

初の長編映画「ノー・ヴォイス」では、捨てられる命ゼロを目指してをテーマに、日本の殺処分問題の現状と犬猫の命の大切さを描き、各地で上映会が行なわれ、2019年には、小説・DVDが発売。2020年には、普連土学園中学校の「国語」の入試問題に採用される。

また、クリエイティブと共に、経営・ICTの活動面でも評価を受け、一般社団法人テレコムサービス協会主催・総務省関東総合通信局共催の「第3回ビジネスモデル発見＆発表会・全国大会」にて「中小企業庁長官賞」を受賞する。

法務省主催の「人権シンポジウム」講演、月刊誌「致知/致知随想」、東京新聞、朝日新聞、埼玉新聞などメディア出演や講演会活動を積極的に行うと共に、学生や社会人向けにコミュニケーション力を育む“映画×アクティブ・ラーニング”ワークショップ「シネマ・アクティブ・ラーニング®︎」を全国で展開している。

最新作となる長編映画「あまのがわ」は、不登校の女子高生が分身ロボット“OriHime”と共に、屋久島・鹿児島を舞台に旅をする物語。主演は、本作が映画初出演＆初主演となり、第100期朝ドラ「なつぞら」で広瀬すず演じるなつの幼馴染・夕見子役を務める福地桃子。本作は、第31回東京国際映画祭「特別招待作品」として、海外６つの映画祭でノミネート、ロサンゼルスJFFLAでは「最優秀脚本賞」を受賞、2021年1月には、日本映画ウィーク2021inホーチミンに、是枝監督「万引き家族」と並んで、日本代表の１作品に選定される。

現在、芸術面では、即興演劇（インプロ）のリーグ戦「こんなはずじゃなかった2020」に監督として参戦し、リーグ戦に優勝。現在、インプロの講師の活動を手掛けている。
また、最新作映画は、パーキンソン病をテーマにした映画「いまダンスをするのは誰だ？」（2021年撮影予定）の制作準備中。
学術面では、北陸先端科学技術大学院大学博士後期課程に在籍して、エスノグラフィを用いて映画製作における創造性を研究している。

Shun Coney Director/Story Evangelist/Novelist

Under the theme “Give Life to Your Story!”, he is engaged in co-education activities to bring out a sense of self-affirmation in both adults and children through the fusion of stories and education.

As a student, he experienced bullying and withdrawal for many years. After working as a physics teacher at Sundai Prep School for 10 years, he became a film director. He has long been involved in research across the natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences, including physics, psychology, film studies, and anthropology, and his main activity is to discover creative values that are not bound by existing frameworks.

He has won or been nominated for awards at more than 40 film festivals to date. At his alma mater, Waseda University, he was selected as a representative of the graduating class as an Okuma Memorial Scholar, and at his other alma mater, Digital Hollywood University Graduate School, he received the President’s Award as a representative of the graduating class.

His first feature film, “No Voice,” depicts the current situation of the slaughter problem in Japan and the importance of the lives of cats and dogs, with the theme of “Aiming for Zero Abandoned Lives.

In addition to his creativity, he has also received recognition for his management and ICT activities, and was awarded the Director-General’s Prize of the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency at the 3rd Business Model Discovery and Presentation National Competition, hosted by the Telecom Service Association of Japan and co-hosted by the Kanto Bureau of Telecommunications, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

He has lectured at the Human Rights Symposium sponsored by the Ministry of Justice, and has actively appeared in the media and given lectures in such publications as the monthly magazine “Chi-Chi/Zui-So”, the Tokyo Shimbun, the Asahi Shimbun, and the Saitama Shimbun.

His latest feature film, “Amanogawa,” tells the story of a high school girl who never goes to school and travels to Yakushima and Kagoshima with her alter-ego robot, OriHime. The lead role is played by Momoko Fukuchi, who makes her first appearance in a movie and her first starring role as Yumiko, a childhood friend of Natsu played by Suzu Hirose in the 100th season of the morning drama “Natsuzora”. The film has been nominated at six international film festivals, including the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival as a “Special Screenings” film, won the “Best Screenplay” award at the JFFLA in Los Angeles, and will be selected as one of the films to represent Japan at the Japanese Film Week 2021 in Ho Chi Minh City in January 2021, along with Kore-eda’s “Manbiki Kazoku”. 

On the artistic side, he participated in the improvisational theater league “This Wasn’t Supposed to Happen 2020” as a director and won the league. Currently, he is involved in teaching improvisation.
His latest film is about Parkinson’s disease, “Who’s Dancing Now? (scheduled to be shot in 2021), which is currently in preparation for production.
On the academic side, he is enrolled in the doctoral program at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), where he is researching creativity in filmmaking using ethnography.
